Greek Wedding in Beaumont & Bauer Ranch |

Oh yes. It’s Summer. Quick recap for us: We have been chased by long horns during a landscape shoot, had a lot of evenings out grilling and even more late evenings with extended bed times. We have a little one heading towards school for the first time, we have some vacation dates yet to come, indoor studio sessions, we made it through an escape room with friends, and of course we have been to some weddings! As always, we typically don’t blog all of our weddings, and it has been a while. More than anything there is a time factor with plunging in to the huge pool of images getting them to this final point. But, we do love how a blog can really give a start to finish story of a wedding.

So…a Greek wedding! Wow! They really went all out. This was a new one to witness for us, and while nothing changes with what we have to do from a photography perspective, it was fun to be a part of a celebration that was a little different. Plus, add in getting to work with a lot of our favorite vendors, jamming out to a live band, yummy food, amazing décor, and it was quite the night. Seeing a lot of the traditions in the ceremony and some of the dances were really fun for us as photographers because we thrive on action and emotion. For a photojournalist, we want things to be moving. When things are happening, it gives us more opportunities to tell a story. At this one a LOT happened. Enjoying a reception out at Bauer Ranch is always a treat, and we were really excited to get a moment for a few portraits when the sky gave us a little artistic flare.

Weddings can be overwhelming. EVERYONE is there to see YOU as a bride and groom. You are like a celebrity, guest of honor, and main event, all rolled in to one. I said a while back on social media it is actually kind of difficult to find time together as a couple, and so much of the day is swept by, we often have couples tell us that much of what they saw in their photos, they don’t even remember. As always, we really want our wedding photography to reflect an authentic look at the wedding day for our couples. That is why our shooting, lighting, editing etc. tries to keep what we feel is a ‘timeless’ look. Though it can look great, we stay away from a lot of color grading, or extra effects in our editing because you only have two things left from your wedding: Your spouse, and your images. We want you to have a window to these moments without trying to over process them, because they are YOUR memories.

We never quite had a slower summer span of weeks like in years past, and it has really gone by so fast. I know we are many weeks away from the summer heat pulling back, and we have plenty of summering to do ourselves, but somewhere on the distant horizon there is always that small whisper that Fall is coming…  I hope you enjoy this one! See you soon!
